when i sat down across from her
in her soft green eyes i remember
a love so kind, a love so blind
the ease of forgetting time
an enchanting lilac breeze
swept us over the seven seas
we painted our skies as we soared along
this taintless world, our sacred playground
we never needed more
more than to be free
when little rosie sat down beside me
as i close my eyes tonight
to try and rest from this eternal fight
i’ll take a deep breath and dream of days
pickin’ pails of smiles as we ran in the rain
and rolled in a valley
of roaming bumblebees
